Ugh, stop twitching
april 2011 Q&A digest
minutiae Posted 2011-05-11 22:26:50 by Jim Crawford

Not a lot this month, largely because people have stopped asking questions. Or at least stopped asking questions to which my answer isn't “I have no idea.”

If you had to wear one outfit for the rest of your life, like a cartoon character, what would you wear?

I do have a pretty standard “first date” look that I'm mostly happy with. Pixelated sleeping cat graphic tee; red overshirt, unbuttoned; khakis. That'd work for cartoon me. Real life me, I'd probably want to come up with something more versatile.
Do you think the anthropic principle is an acceptable explanation of how the universe originated? Or is it just a clever way to dodge the question?
Not of how the universe originated, but I think it works an an explanation of why, of all possible universes, we live in one that can support life. It's probably a prerequisite to assume that many possible universes exist in addition to ours.
Are there any things in your life that you regret doing? How would you have handled them differently?
Lots. Mostly it would involve being a bit less of an asshole growing up.
